In the past few days, the data protection commissioner of the state of Baden-Württemberg has caused discussions in connection with the use of social media services.
A large number of Google Play Store mobile applications (“Apps”) contain privacy policies that do not honestly and adequately reflect what happens to the personal information they collect from users. In many cases, the use of standard policies or templates is the practice to blame for the contradictions between what the company claims to do with users’ data and what actually happens with their data.
At the beginning of the year the Data State Inspectorate (hereinafter – DSI) – the Latvian national supervisory authority responsible for observing compliance and protection of personal data, released a statement, where it comments on the processing of personal data of natural persons who take part in commercial activities in Latvia.
Finland generally prides itself on being a transparent an open society. A good example of this is something quite unique to this Nordic state. Personal tax record belonging to private individuals are public.
