New legislation entered into force in Poland on 9 July 2018 introducing significant changes in the limitation periods for claims under civil law. Two most significant changes are: the reduction of one of the basic limitation periods from ten to six years, and the introduction of the rule that the end of the limitation period falls on the last day of the calendar year (unless the limitation period is shorter than two years).

Ordinance No. 2018-1125 of December 12, 2018 completes, at the legislative level, the alignment of French national law with the General Data Protection Regulations and the "police-justice" Directive, applicable to criminal records.
At the end of 2018 Estonian parliament managed finally to adopt new Personal Data Protection Act. The new Act came into force January 15, 2019; and elaborates and supplements the General Data Protection Regulation.
The public consultation of the Data Protection Authority on the five general authorizations compliant with the GDPR was published in the Official Journal.

On 29 November 2018, the Italian Competition Authority (ICA) closed the proceedings started on 6 April 2018 by a number of Consumers’ Associations against Facebook Inc. and Facebook Ireland Ltd. As a result, the ICA fined the social network for having implemented two unfair commercial practices in violation of the Italian Consumer Code.
Pursuant to its official order from December 18th, 2018, Data State Inspectorate (DSI) has finally released a long-awaited communication on the list of the personal data processing activities, which require Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
